About Us
MCM Polled Herefords have been in the Hereford business for over 60 years with the decision to dedicate the operation to superior Polled Hereford genetics. Stanley and Janice McMahon started and grew this herd with the help of their two sons Brian and Craig and have always kept it a family owned operation. The family has worked to stay competitive in the show ring as well as produce exceptional purebred seed stock to offer to the commercial as well as the purebred cattlemen.
Our mission as Hereford breeders, and as cattlemen, have always been to utilize genetics that are in high demand and still be able to offer quality as well as functionality in all cattle who leave here. This is primarily possible due to our extensive use of AI, Embryo Transfer, and having a genetically strong, progressive cow herd.
The McMahon family has been in the farming business for over 100 years. The grain farming operation consists of irrigated and dry-land crops of corn, soybeans, and wheat.
Throughout the years the family has grown and worked together in all aspects of the operation. Upon Stan’s retirement, Brian and Craig took over sole ownership of the business and continued to excel in offering phenotypically and genetically sound cattle to multiple consignment sales as well as private treaty breeding stock off the farm. Brian, and his wife Jill, have four kids, Daniel, Grady, Mattie, and Harrison. In 2012, Grady returned home from college and bought Craig’s share of the cows and is now partnered with his dad, Brian.
Private treaty sales are offered year round featuring purebred herd bull prospects along with commercial herd bulls, replacement females, with show heifer and steer prospects. Visitors are always welcome as we are located only 13 miles south of Hastings, NE.
